You may remember this title that started off with a Demo release in 2010. After the great reception Nacho Cuesta had with his Demo, he then went on to try his luck at finding a publisher to get the title released commercially. Having had some interest from 3 companies, only to have them back out months later by simply not replying to his emails, he's decided to release the full game for free!
I would imagine a lot of you aren't that interested in DS homebrew at this stage in the scene, but I would still advise trying this game as it deserves your attention. The play style resembles that of the Mario Vs. Donkey Kong games, using cute sprite work within a platform puzzler featuring a heap of stages to play through. It's a shame the title didn't get released on a commercial scale, but you end up getting this polished homebrew for free so we can't complain.
Tecmo Koei have released a Jump Festa 2012 trailer for Dynasty Warriors VS. They're a tad late, but so is the game, which was slightly delayed and will be released April 26th in Japan.
PypeBros has released version 1.5 of Apple Assault. This version features a berry bat, which will tease you if you don't punch enough Applemen in time. Apple Assault is one of the finest DS homebrew projects you probably never played, so do it now!
Author's description
Hey, there! Cleaning up and tuning in are done. If you enjoyed once AppleAssault, but then stopped playing it because you didn't feel the challenge anymore, here's an update that you might love: AppleAssault -- BerryBat Things. The idea is simple: you've got limited time to clear up a level. As long as you punch applemen out of the arena, nothing bad will happen... But if you get lazy and that the applemen count remains the same for too long, a berry bat will come and tease you. You could manage to get rid of it, of course, but then another one will come soon, and then again another and another, again and again until you surrender (or focus on punching Applemen, after all).
Xcution has released version 0.1 of Project CiTRUS, a PC application to design/output 3DS banner and icon files.
Author's description
Over the past weeks I have been working on Project CiTRUS. Currently this tool is capable of designing/outputting "proper" Nintendo 3DS (CTR) BaNneR and ICoN files using my XBSF format.
You may notice that creating these formats is not yet available in any other released tool. Over the course of time I will do my best to add creating new formats of 3DS files among various other calculations if I see users are liking the program.
Note: I do not recommend this release for n00bs as it requires knowledge of a few Nintendo 3DS (CTR) files.
I do not include an editor for these formats, however, I do include an example of each required file for generating a test banner/icon. I do this not to troll, but rather in the hopes that it will encourage other talented users to make programs for the 3DS.
USE
For the most part, I included instructions in READMEHOWTOUSE.txt included in the download for the program.
