This is quite an unexpected release - Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers is a Japanese Saturn game in the MEGATEN universe - fans all around the world had to wait until now to enjoy it in English. This version is going to be ever so slightly remastered, so if you're one of the many gamers who missed on the Saturn, don't know Japanese and you happen to enjoy titles such as Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, you'll feel right at home with this game. No specified date was announced apart from "Spring 2013", but hey - spring is just around the corner, isn't it?
It's a shame there's still no word on a European release. The 3DS's region lock is really starting to bother me... Not buying one just yet, but hey - I shouldn't be put in the position where I have to wonder which region of the console to pick.
Here's for hoping that Atlus will choose to release this title worldwide - I'm a big MEGATEN fan.

Gameplay looks cool. I love 1st person RPGs, if it's done properly, like Dark Spire or Strange Journey. Parts of the cutscenes reminded me of the Thundercats (more precisely, of Mumm-Ra), which takes away from the atmosphere in the game, but put a smile on my face anyways. And that guy with poop stacked on his head looks stupid.
And here I was hoping for news about SMT4's US release date, or perhaps the elusive bit of info on Persona 5. I suppose any news about SMT games being translated into English is a good sign, since it means that they're still confident it will sell well here.

The game was never released outside of Japan and it's going to receive some minor remastering, so for all intents and purposes, this is a new game for us.
Minor remastering from a game console that was the Sega equivalent of the Super Nintendo seems like they're short-changing us again. Considering that my favorite game of the series was Devil Survivor, I think it's safe to say that I'm not one of those people who only plays the games with the best graphics, but this should be a HD remake not just a minor remaster.

More like Sega's equivalent of the N64. It was perfectly capable of "decent" 3D, at least for its time, and definitely strong enough to support a game like this.

16-bit console originally released in 1988 vs 64 bit console originally released in 1996... I think you're confusing the Genesis with the Saturn
