Oceansize is one of my favourite bands(and probably my favourite amongst all my favourites), so I thought I should share them with more people. They play more modern progressive rock(i.e. not Rush): They are very diverse in style but their experimentation is constant.

If I had to summarise their music it would be amalgamation of alternative rock, heavy hard rock, experimental prog, ambient post-rock, space rock and intricate, beautiful and complex song-writing.

Here are some of my favourite songs from them(Actually, most of their songs are my favourites, these just stand out more):

Spoiler

Sadly, they disbanded around February this year, they had 4 albums and a few EPs. Their first 3 albums are masterpieces(Effloresce, Everyone Into Position, Frames), especially Frames.

Those who like modern prog should really check them out. Though I would say their music is pretty hard to appreciate, it would probably bore people who aren't into prog or post-rock.
