Not to sure what this tool does. If you are looking for more than 1 Save with your DQ9: NEW GAME: For both PC and MicroSD users, just find your DQ9_rom.sav file and re-name it (adding the date to the filename is the best, DQ9_rom_7-13.sav) Then you can start a new game, this will create a new .sav You can re-name and switch between as many saved games as you want. CONTINUE a game with NEW save: For both PC and MicroSD users, just find your DQ9_rom.sav file and COPY/PASTE it, THEN re-name it (adding the date to the filename is the best, DQ9_rom_7-13.sav) This will load your current game and have a backup .sav of it. It may be a couple mins. of work, but you will be able to save multiple games.

I think PC gamers call it a 'trainer'. From that screen you can edit level, exp, equipment, and all of the characters' features like hair style and color (assuming you messed up the first time you created them??)
|
| I thought that a "trainer" was an app that ran in the background and gave you in game cheating.. Like the GameGeni or GameShark. I thought that something like ths was called a "Save Editor" and that you could edit your save game to give you more money, or better items, or other things. Then you would load the modified save and continue playing the game "Normally" after that. I could be wrong tho, I have seen many gaming terms from 25 years get new definitions by younger gamers.

Since this topic is only in the second page, I guess it's fine to post in it even if like 6 months have passed by... I just found this editor today *blush*

so this is sort of like Pokesav but for DQ?
|
| That is exactly what it is. I used it to give my main character the entire DQ3 Hero costume set (the ゆうしゃ equipment). Although I found out that editing a character changes its name to something like the character of its name and then garbled stuff, so it's best to make a bogus character that you can edit and later strip (that's what I did). I did notice that there seems to be a problem with the editor and my computer making the text bold and hard to read, far different from the screenshot. Applocale tells me it's a unicode problem so I doubt it has to do with the editor and more with my computer. There's a second .exe in the folder that seems to imply the ability to edit quest things themselves but I haven't tried it out yet (probably won't since I don't want to edit anything else...)
