Alekmaul has ported CloneKeen to Nintendo DS. CloneKeen is an almost complete open-source clone of the old classic DOS game, Commander Keen: Invasion of the Vorticons by ID Software. You can play the first 3 episodes of the series if you own the originals, only the shareware version of episode 1 demo is included.
How to play :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - PAD : arrow keys regarding situations, buttons allow you to : - SELECT : pause - START : select - bottom screen and L : quit - R : save - A : key 1 and fire - B : key 2 and jump - X : key 3 and N and Q - Y : key 4 and POGO and T and Y
Anyone have any luck with this? I tried putting all files into keenbindata Then I tried the root. Both times it says "Error in game. Touch screen to return to menu." Checked all files and filenames.
It actually worked for me the first time I loaded it, but subsequent loads gives me that "error in game" message too. If I keep rebooting (using a CycloDS, BTW) I can sometimes get the demo and Episode 2 to work, but usually I just get the error.
The way I set mine up was to just create one folder called "Commander Keen" and threw all the files in that one folder. Like I said, it worked on the first boot, it's just been flaky every boot afterwords.
Guess we'll have to wait for version 1.1. Anyone in contact with the dude who created it? Maybe he can tell us why it's doing that.
I first tried it on CycloDS too. I tried it on my EZ-5 also, same issue, it seemed to work at first but then the touchscreen GUI went all glitchy. Will try with slot-2 NOR on my 3-in-1, if I can figure out how to append the game files to the .DS.GBA file, it's been a while.

Readme says: "You must copy all the *.CK* files in a directory and the .nds file in the same directory." "WARNING ! ALL THE FILES MUST BE CAPITALIZES !"
And it mentions a list of which files need to be present. Did you do all that?
I checked out the source code, but there's no mention of an "error in game" message, meaning it's probably an image, and I can't check what causes the error.
