It's been over 2 years since we first posted news of the Mother 3 fan translation project, and now after what seems like forever the team have finally released a completed English patch to the public. You will need a slot-2 card to run this game as it's for GBA, failing that you can always use an emulator.
Instructions:
Import a copy of the game, if you can find one. It’s not cool to brazenly pirate stuff! Itoi, Nintendo, HAL, and Brownie Brown worked hard on this game. Can’t find a copy? Consider buying some official merch (below).
You need a copy of the ROM before patching. You’re on your own for this step.
Open the MOTHER 3 Fan Translation zip file. Inside you’ll find “patcher” programs for Windows, Mac, and Linux computers. Use the patcher to apply the translation to your MOTHER 3 ROM. Problems? Click here.
Ta-da! Your ROM is now in magical, sexy English. All you have to do is open it with a Game Boy Advance (GBA) emulator.

nooooo i cant play it on my ez flash 3 in 1 as the rom's 32 megs oh well theres always the good old psp
I've been playing it on a 3-in-1 for the last 2hrs. Just flash it to NOR, any ROM over 15MB needs to be flashed to NOR memory. I'm using an old 3-in-1 that i got way before the new revision was released, which maybe slightly faster than the new versions. I haven't experienced any issues, where as some people on the GBAtemp forums seem to be complaining of slowdown, and freezes when opening the map using a 3-in-1, neither has happened to me yet.
I flashed it using the CycloDS Evo built in GBA loader, which is basically the same as GBA Exploader, but the slot-1 card shouldn't even matter. Anyway, if you flash the patched ROM to NOR memory you can play it on the DS.

Damn! Why does the Austin Film Festival have to be tomorrow, when my EZ-flash 3-in-1 is supposed to ship?
I've been following this project for about a year, but just started looking over the blog a few months ago. I can't believe its out! This is huge! I wonder how Nintendo feels right now? And that is a serious question that I cannot answer myself.

This might be a stupid question (sorry if it is), but wouldn't the patched ROM work on a GBA with a flash cart? The reason I ask is because I have a GBA with a flash2advance cart and don't want to play this on an emulator or get a slot 2 cart for my DS.
