Ok, I have been playing the European release of DQ4 and I'm on Chapter 5, Entered Zenithia and spoke to the Dragon King. Now I've completed the Japanese release 4 times already so I know what to expect but after speaking with the Dragon King the hole in the clouds never appears for me to jump through in order to enter Nadiria! I have tried everything so far and nothing seems to trigger the opening of the hole in the clouds. I don't want to jump to conclusions yet but given Square-Enix's Anti-Piracy measures in the past I suspect this may, in fact, be just that. I am using an R4 (v1) with firmware 1.18. Again this is the European release not the North American release but I don't see why it would be different. Any feedback from other R4 users would be greatly appreciated.
If I make any progress I'll report back with the news.
UPDATE: Apparently this is also a problem with the USA release. I am using the EUR save file with the USA version which is interchangeable since the only thing that changed between the two releases was an updated Square-Enix splash screen with an ESRB notice for the USA version.

You obviously didn't read the Terms of Service!!!!!!!!!!! --------------------------------------------------------- WE DO NOT HOST OR SERVE ROMS!

You obviously didn't read the Terms of Service where you agreed not to ask for commercial roms. I've given you a 50% warning which means one more warning (from me) will result in a ban.

Isn´t the save file interchangeable with the japanese release? If it is... We´ll just have to use the Jap version to go through this hole isn´t it? And... is there a patch or something for the jap version to be translated? (just to be able to understand what happens after you get through the hole in the clouds)
I also wanted to ask you about some "rumours" you talked about of differences between EUR and US versions... what are these about?

Well, the save file from the JPN version isn't compatible with the EUR/USA versions or else I'd try my old .SAV file. As far as rumors, I heard that the "Party Talk" feature has been removed in the EUR/USA versions. But honestly, I don't know what the hell that is.
This sucks. I was playin the Japanese version with the translation but stopped ages ago. so i picked this one up to start again with a proper translation and without all the annoying broken text stuff to refresh my mind, and this happens at chapter 5??? So ill have to go back to the Japanese one Party talk - its when you have two or more party members and u use the talk command in the menu to talk to them about whats happening at the point in time, and what to do. ect... Wud of been cool if that was in it too
