This SaGa3 project looks really promising. This ROM hack stuff is always a bit difficult, you never know if people are really working on this or just building a webpage arround nothing. But this is one of the most promising projects now. And we have translation projects for Puyo Puyo 20th, Blood Of Bahamuth and some other games now. Some cool stuff is going to happen in the next months.

To get started you'll need an unmodifed Japanese version of SaGa 3. How you obtain that is up to you. Ideally it's from a ROM that you dumped yourself from an imported cartridge that you paid for. To ensure that the patch will work you can verify the CRC of the original and patched versions of the rom. CRC32 can be downloaded here:
Original Unmodified ROM: ADADA633 English Patch v0.2.612 597A986D
To patch the ROM, simply run the xdeltaUI.exe application included in the zip file. For the patch choose saga3eng_v0.2_r612.xdelta. For the source file select your umodified rom. The output file should be the name of the patched rom you wish to create. Finally click on the patch button. Once the patch has been applied you can run CRC32 on the patched rom ensure your CRC value matches the one above.

Well, great that the patch is out but as many others, I will wait for a complete one. I prefer my games all Japanese or all English (with Japanese voices if possible), and for that reason I'm not too fond of incomplete translations. However, this looks promising and I surely will be giving this a try the day it is finished.
Weird that they didn't localise any of the DS SaGas, but knowing the fact that the most recent SaGa games (Romancing SaGa for PS2 and Unlimited Saga for PS2) were pretty much panned by critics and gamers alike (not in Japan though), I'm not very surprised after all. Man I hate the voices in those games, and especially Unlimited Saga's "boardgame"-system is awful. Romancing SaGa (-Minstrel's Song-) is great, but the English voices ruin the whole experience. I wish someone undubbed it, or maybe I will just buy the freaking Japanese game... instead of lamenting.
