spinal, known from popular DS(i) homebrew applications and games such as Spike Dislike DS or the DSi Homebrew Channel, has figured out the 3DS's video format, so now you can watch any video you want on your precious 3DS. Check out the spoiler below to find out how.
UPDATE: SifJar has created a small GUI tool for this procedure, but beware, as it is still in beta phase and there may be bugs. Download link can be found below.

OK, having updated your 3DS no doubt you'll want to watch videos on it in 3D. So, here's how
The 3DS video format is a simple avi with two mjpeg video streams and a single ima adpcm audio stream, with a resolution of 480x240. You can convert to it with the following instructions...
Download or rip your 3D video (youtube has millions of them by now)
Download ffmpeg.
run the ffmpeg with the following options (assuming that your video is called "video.avi")
Hmm, got myself the latest Win64bit static build of ffmpeg at http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/, but it immediately closes after opening. I think I'm going to to read some tutorials now.lol

I downloaded the recent build, but cannot seem to get the converter to function either.
Open command (the DOS style window, I don't exactly know how it's called in english, think it's command), then go to the folder your ffmpeg.exe is in by climbing the folder structure with "cd Foldername" until you're there, then insert the code spinal posted.
edit: sniped. Yeah. The GUI version should be much easier to use.
