I don't think this is a remake, I think it's a continuation of the storyline. If it is a remake I will be slightly disheartened.

Pfft, Golden Sun. Tried both GBA ones way back when. Was in a major JRPG period back then, so played them all. The two Golden Sun ones bored me so much I just left them aside and started playing another JRPG instead. They felt so bland, like they didn't do anything to make a game, but just went over a checklist of what a good RPG has to have. It just felt bland and soulless. On top of that, there was no challenge to it, either.

Maybe it's just me, but due to that, I don't understand the: "YAYWOOT! NEW GOLDEN SUN" stuff. If I see those reactions, I remember the hours I spent being bored by the 2 GBA ones and simply can't get excited 'bout more of that.

maybe you should give an oportunity to this, its a remake,it has to be better than the original, arrogant  dont you think?wink

Remake confused This ain't no remake. It's a sequel, foo'!

I can't believe I wasted my time sifting through all that raging, but anyways....

I actually have been waiting for this for years and years since I bought and beat the first two games. Honestly, I really really liked them. I enjoyed the Djinni system and how one mistake in a big fight could actually cost you the fight. Whoever was bitching about glitches: lolwut? There were minor Psynergy detection issues in the first two games, and they were very minor. In no way were they annoying, game breaking, or anything of the sort.

The final bosses were difficult in both games respectively, and Lost Age had significantly more challenge than Golden Sun. The Lost Age had enough extra summons and such to go collect, it was pretty time consuming in all. I wouldn't label these as 40 hour RPG's though. At most, they are maybe 25 hours for the Lost Age and 15 to 20 hours for Golden Sun, and that's only if you do EVERYTHING.

I did want the GBA link in some way though, maybe extra dungeons, secret weapons, something that really put my incredible data to good use. I honestly could care less if you sacrificed your slot 2 and got a DSi. That was your decision and the creation of the DSi should have had no bearing on that option being included or not.

Fun fact: Nobody has ever hit the level cap in The Lost Age. A few pumped their levels far over 100 using the big exp birds, and even then, there was no end in sight. I bet they just didn't include one due to the difficulty of power leveling.

It's actually pretty irrelavant. I imagine you could just use cheats to get whatever you wanted.

Numbers on computers can only be so big, so there has to be a max level. If they didn't have a cap and you leveled past the highest level possible for the bitlength used you would go back to being level 0 or a negative level depending on if a signed or unsigned number was used.

I do remember tough that the highest level you could transfer Isaac's party with was 99, and I don't think you could level them up any higher. Also, the base stats had caps, so it's only logical to assume the the level had too.

I can't cheat in games (at least RPG's it seems), as it ruins the experience for me. After I edited my save on DQIX for all the Inn stuff, I didn't have much of a will to play anymore. Same story on nearly any game I cheat on really. It just loses something.

Either way, I haven't had a cheat file on my cart for the better part of a year, so that's irrelevant for me. It's just a matter that people who bought the games shouldn't be shafted all because of the DSi.

For the level cap, yes, numbers can only go so high, but whatever the cap on The Lost Age was, it was never reached or revealed. I didn't know people bothered going over 100 on Golden Sun. It's about 100 times harder to level on that game, as there are no huge exp monsters with tricks to keep them appearing.
