Just tested it on my R4, it works like a charm!  Thanks for the info, logical thinker.   Back to more bouncing. lol

Just tested:
Sega Classic Collection, Sonic and Sega Racing, SMT: Strange Journey
All clean scene USA ROMs, and they all work perfectly, homebrew compatibility looks like its 100% as well. Only downside is you have to rename all your sav files to .nds.sav, but that is easily done with a batch operation.
Long live the ol' R4!  

Edit: Also the soft-reset function isn't working yet, and when it asks you if you want to restart when switching themes you have to manually reboot your DS. The latest cheats off gbatemp work fine too, if you use the usrcheat.dat file.

They didn't work on the original R4 firmware (without patches).

Compatibility is great, even pokémon HG and SS.
For the Dutch ppl, i made a quick dirty Dutch translation

- Dutch Wood R4 Translation

Place the dir in "x:__rpglanguage"
change language in your wood settings and save and restart your DS
