Capcom loves the Megaman franchise...and so do I.

Geo Stelar is slowly becoming suicidal, thinking no one loves him and he can never trust anyone after his father's demise. So, he goes to his favorite Star-Gazing point and a "FM-ian" senses Geo's loneliness and "Waves" into his Transfer(It's like a PET except no Jack-In stuff). So, Mega(Original Name is Omega-Xis[Oh-Meh-Gah-Sis]) informs Geo that the FM King wants to destroy Earth, but to do that he needs the Andromeda Key(Which Mega stole) so he sends his FM soldiers to try and get the Key from Mega any way possible.

Storyline

It was sort of confusing at first, but then the storyline becomes so much more intriguing.
Rating: 8/10

Gameplay

If you just started this after playing Battle Network, you will feel totally alien. The battle system is now 3-D so you will end up on the bottom screen. If you tap down on the D-Pad, you will create a Lock-On so when you use a chip, it will position you in front of the Virus and use the chip(Which makes sword combos so much easier). Also, they removed the Letter thing, meaning Program Advances don't exist anymore, but you can do something called a "B-Combo" or Best Combo. It's like a program advance, but can't be used unless you make one(Which is during a boss battle[Like WolfWoods battle]) and then buy the Combo in Card form for 3k Zenni.
The battle system is so much easier and is a lot more fun but challenging as well.
Rating: 9/10

Mini-games

You get "Navi" chips which allow you to use their special things. For example, PropellerMan Card allows you to control an RC airplane during Side-Quests or part of the storyline. You get Navi Cards and they are really fun most of the time.
Side-Quests are also Mini-Games, because you need to "Wave In" into a person's transfer, read their personal information, then offer to help them. Lots of times, you need to show your Navi cards or trade battle cards. But there are three Quiz Masters so it's best to do these quests.
Final "Mini-Game" is the Megaman crossover with the old Battle Network games. You put a cartridge of one of the Battle Network games in Slot-2 and then go to the Dog house, you will encounter a Blue orb who says "That's important Sci Lab data" and you offer to help the orb. The rest you find out yourself.
Rating: 8.5/10

Appeal

I loved the new Brother-Band system, that has to be one of the best appeals in this game. Making a Brother-Band with your friends and then being able to use their favorite chips and transform into their version Admin(If they have a different version from you).
I also loved the new 3D battle because it was so much more fun and always a challenge.
Rating: 9/10

Controls

Getting used to them takes no time at all. It's the Target system that alters your strategies making the battling a bit tougher. Otherwise, just like a normal MMBN game.
Rating: 7/10

Overall

Megaman Star Force is a good series if you are an old time Megaman Battle Network fan or are a brand new Megaman fan. It has many fun things to do, and the wireless features can keep you playing for hours.
I recommend this game for people at least 10 and up, mainly because of Geo being an emo douche and because they probably wouldn't get the storyline because of Geo being such an emo douche.

I give this game a rating of:

9.0

Awesome review and awesome game.  :playlite:
Been a MMBN fan since MMBN2 which is still the best in my opinion.

I am just curious which one did you play though?
Is there a reason why you would recommend one version above another? (like a stupid mini-game in one or annoying mission?, so you would rather recommend the other 2?)

I play Dragon(Level 93 <3).
I believe in the best version to worst is Pegasus > Dragon = Leo because of the Giga Chips you can get(Who doesn't want a dark sword from Pegasus </3).
The only difference is your Sky Admin, your form and your Giga chips.

Ok which one has more ranged chips/attacks/forms and which one has more swords?

Cuz I prefer blasters to swords.

I was forced to switch from MMBN5 Protoman, because he like only had sword chips which made those area clearing battles take forever.

They all have the same chips. It's the Giga Chips that make the difference.
Pegasus: Form is crap, but Giga Chips are amazing.
Dragon: It's all right, good Giga chips that can dish out good damage.
Leo: Same as Dragon. The Gigas are all right, the form is crap though, because you stand in the same spot for 2 seconds, un-able to move.

Basically, Pegasus = Freezes enemy so you can deal out more damage, Dragon = Good sturdy chips that can dish out the damage, Leo = Damage dealer but can be really damaged if in form.

Ahh thanks for that. Looks like I need to be playing Pegasus.
Incase you ask why let's just say I loved the elecform on MMBN2.
Although I prefer Dragons :(
O well I will see, definately staying away from Leo then though, eventhough it's red which is my favourite colour.
What is it with Capcom always making the game I would prefer from name/colour crappier than the other one?...anyways thanks for the info and the great review.
