I can't believe I wasted my time sifting through all that raging, but anyways....

I actually have been waiting for this for years and years since I bought and beat the first two games. Honestly, I really really liked them. I enjoyed the Djinni system and how one mistake in a big fight could actually cost you the fight. Whoever was bitching about glitches: lolwut? There were minor Psynergy detection issues in the first two games, and they were very minor. In no way were they annoying, game breaking, or anything of the sort.

The final bosses were difficult in both games respectively, and Lost Age had significantly more challenge than Golden Sun. The Lost Age had enough extra summons and such to go collect, it was pretty time consuming in all. I wouldn't label these as 40 hour RPG's though. At most, they are maybe 25 hours for the Lost Age and 15 to 20 hours for Golden Sun, and that's only if you do EVERYTHING.

I did want the GBA link in some way though, maybe extra dungeons, secret weapons, something that really put my incredible data to good use. I honestly could care less if you sacrificed your slot 2 and got a DSi. That was your decision and the creation of the DSi should have had no bearing on that option being included or not.

Fun fact: Nobody has ever hit the level cap in The Lost Age. A few pumped their levels far over 100 using the big exp birds, and even then, there was no end in sight. I bet they just didn't include one due to the difficulty of power leveling.
