I think there's other game like in nds there's LovePlus+ where if you play without ap patch, the girl will reject you everytime you take her to date.
there's some other games too using similar way to protect the game, like it will pop up random message and close the game like EDGE did, or making game impossible to be played like DQM 2 did.
