i got into my share of fights (RL and online) over the
n-word (i used that pretty liberally for quite some time too),
the nazi bullshit (and yeah, i met polish people that could not
take it at all) and even yomama! jokes. the first rule should
be: "if you somehow managed to really offend someone due to
a lack of understanding, you better cut that shit out."

the n-word is not offensive to me, i met black people that
were cool with it, but i also met some that weren't. i can't
put myself in that place, i'm not black, i have no idea what it feels
like for them, and neither can any non-german ever truly understand what
it feels like for a german to be confronted with the same
old tired hitler nazi bullshit time and time again.
we, as a people, are ridiculous enough without having to resort
to the darkest place in our history as a source for lulz.
like i said, there's wurst and lederhosen and funny accents and scooter
and tokyo hotel and the scorpions, our love for hasselhoff,
our lack of humour, our butt-ugly chancellor and incompetent
government, and yet the first thing i get confronted with time after time after time
is idiots that call me a nazi or greet me with "heil hitler".
i know it's silly to have any form of cultural sensitivity on the
web, but in the last couple days the stupid nazi bullshit just kept on coming on
here and it just reached a point where i'm really fed up, mainly
because it just mirrors the lack of intelligence and creativity in people.
"oh i see a german flag in his profile, i know, how about i call
him hitler or jew-hater, won't that be funny?"
no dillweed, it won't! make fun of me for being gay for brad pitt (i am a little!),
of the ridiculous cat in my sig or even of my postcount, call me noob
or whatnot, but at least show me that you took the time to insult
me on a level that goes deeper than "ouh hes german, germans are nazis by default".
i'm a big fan of stereotypes too, but can we agree on using them creatively at least?
