Remakes for Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, called Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, have been announced for the 3DS, to be released worldwide in November. Woo! Now everyone can enjoy those lovely trumpets again. 🎺🎺🎺

As a Emerald Fan who couldn't undestand why some people prefered Ruby and Sapphire

Hahaha, nice one.

Yeah, Emerald was of course a better game, but then, that's always been the case for all of the 'third' games in Pokémon's history.

I'm very excited for these remakes, as it's been a very long time since I've played the Hoenn games, and I look forward to seeing the region and all its geographical diversity again. Hopefully the water will look a bit more interesting than in the other Pokémon games, considering the amount of it in Hoenn.

In the teaser it was hinted that these games will be partially 3D.
I hope that doesn't mean that these games have same FPS drop problems as X and Y.

Also, Streetpass secret Base feature incomming.

What do you mean by 'partially 3D'? Seems to me they'll just use the same engine as XY, maybe with a couple tweaks. I definitely don't see them making any 2D games anymore.

And yeah, really really excited for the return of the secret bases!

Interesting. I never played Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, in fact I skipped the whole GBA generation of Poké. Still, remake or not, it will be more of the same P-stuff; running in grass, grinding, occasional awesomeness but more tiresome blah blah like anything else related to Pokémon. I am not a hater of P by a long shot, but have become a bit too cynical to be hyped anymore.

...or so it would seem, because I know when I see Omega Ruby on the shelf, I'll buy it. I'm a sucker, I know, a total SUCKA.

On the other note, I think this is Nintendo's counter for Youkai Watch's popularity. Damn you Nintendo and your psychological marketing. Damn you damness.

I mean that most of the Game is going to be 2D while only parts of the game are 3D.
For example Battles and indoors were 3D (Battles were laggy though) and Outdoor sections were 2D.
This was really bugging me because they make a game that is 50% 2D and the other 50% lags most of the time. I really hope that the remakes won't suffer from the same issues.

What also is interesting is if the game comes with a additional accessory like other remakes did.
FR/LG came with the wireless adapter
HG/SS came with a pedometer
Since the 3DS has both things build in I wonder what they gonna come up next.
