As some of you may already know, there's a lot of work going on behind the 'Scene(s)' (get it?) to make the site more enjoyable for everyone. For example, some changes have been made to improve loading times drastically. Other new features include:

List of new features:

You may post any further questions, remarks and/or suggestions in this thread, and we will do our best to reply to them ASAP.

More incredibly cool things are in the works, and we will try to keep you updated 24/7 (as far as humanly possible, of course).

If you find any errors with these new features, or just find something that strikes you as odd, please report about it here. However, first try clearing your cache and reloading the page, as that could also help to fix the problem.

Thanks for posting this Nathan, I think most of the bugs are ironed out with all these now.

One thing that has kept me from browsing DS-Scene more than I should is a lack of a "view new topics" option. If you could add that basic feature, I would be a lot more active here.

Despite what some people might think, I respect this site very much, you guys here are great, no, make that awesome, and are a lot more adult than the noobism than goes on at that "other" place (though I enjoy that site too, despite the noobs, whom I continue to be nice to, even if they don't always deserve such treatment), but a lack of a "view new topics" option here really hinders my enjoyment of DS-Scene.  It is my primary way of viewing ANY website I visit (and I mean ALL the sites I visit) and when I don't have that option, I tend not to look beyond the few topics listed in your sidebar. It's just the way I roll. I'm truly sorry if that offends anyone, but that's how it is for me.

I may be a more prominent member of a site you guys seem adverse to, so I won't mention their name, but I don't see that adversity through my eyes.  I don't care about the BS that goes on between sites or what happens "behind the scenes", but the lack of "view new posts" here has made it seem like I may not like DS-Scene.  That is NOT the case at all.  I don't give a crap about, or participate in, any arguments you may have with "them", I'm just an old-school gamer who likes talking about games.  If you could add a "view new posts" option, I would become a heck of a lot more active member here. To be honest, I feel a bit alienated for the lack of a "view new posts" option.

I know I could look through every sub-forum and see the newest posts that way, but I feel that's tedious compared to just clicking on a single button and seeing the latest updates. It's the way I view ALL forums, even that other one.

"View new topics" is a function that every other site I frequent has that this one doesn't (if such an option does exist, please tell me how to access it) and it is the ONLY reason I don't frequent this site as much as it deserves.  I consider DS-Scene just as relevant as any other similar site (more-so in some cases), but the lack of a "view new posts" option is a deal-breaker for my way of viewing forums.  So it would be great if you could add that single feature.  I think it would increase the activity of your members and your popularity greatly if it was added.

I think "view new posts" is one simple feature that would make this site as great as it truly deserves to be and I appreciate the opportunity to recommend it.

this is already on the to-do list. I recently tweaked the post history page which will help with producing the "posts since last visit" page. Not sure when this will happen exactly but it will be soon. A few bugs to iron out first though.

I still keep using the add reply button. Stupid habit
Also, keep up the good work :D

EDIT: If you can change the clock to your time zone, wouldn't it be handier if the timestamps on the posts also had that time?

They do when you change the setting, that is the point of it. Did I miss something?

Edit: We are not talking about "The current time is" that displays at the top of every page, that is a flash clock that just reads the time from your PC's clock. It's just a space filler really and alerts people to the fact that they need flash for the website if they do not have it.

Sorry, my noob mistake. Thought that flash thingy was connected to the post's timestamp.
