There's more options I could add I just realised. Why did you sell it?
Basically... more games.
Because it was a $250, there wasn't a game that appealed to me worth $40 + tax. So by alternate thought, I defected to a $100 PSP with a 32 GB Memory Card since PSP already has a fair share of games that can already be downloaded/hacked/played. Hatsune Miku's Project Diva 2nd already has a full 100% English Translation, and don't forget a Prinny themed platformer.
However, I'll most certainly rebuy a 3DS by March of 2012, or the year after in 2013 when Nin10do unveils a newer, better version of the 3DS. Why March? Because NDS' best months were always March and November. As of right now, A Zelda, a Mario Kart, and a Snake Eater hasn't been enough for me to hold out or keep a 3DS yet. Also the PSP I bought matches the color of my NDS.
3ds are cool, but it's not really appealing right now without it's flagship title to come, so I'll get one later. Basically I really interested in NGP rather 3DS right now.
I really adore the 3DS as a handheld and all, and I think it's the coolest thing ever, but I'm not enjoying it as much as I thought I would due to the lack of ANY good games, an internet browser, system transfer and 3DSware. Can't wait 'till the update this month and some real games! Street Fighter isn't all that fun TBH, and I haven't touched Nintendogs in ages. *awaits OoT* As for DS games, I just use my XL. I voted for the 1st option as the 2nd one would be an understatement.

3DS has no games, nothing. It's uselesss crap so far. Maybe I'll get one arround christmas, but I don't care that much. DS Classic will always be my # 1.
i don't own a 3ds and right now i dont plan on getting one. they haven't even announced a good game for it yet, let alone published one. and i don't need a flashy handheld without decent games. if i wanted that, i'd have gotten a psp years ago. oh, and the OoT remake is kinda like the royal wedding: the whole world seems to go apeshit over it, but i just fail to understand why the fuck i should care... IT'S TWO TOTAL STRANGERS BLOWING MILLIONS OF TAX-PAYER MONEY ON A FREAK-SHOW WEDDING/ IT'S THE FOURTH RE-RELEASE OF A 13 YEAR OLD GAME....WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU???

I'm pretty much agree what you said. Right now, 3DS is not even worth getting without any title that interested me. It is the games that makes the system good, not the other way around.
To answer your question: There are just too many Nintendo fanboys out there. Whatever Nintendo releases they will always think they are the greatest thing in the world. For example, the DSi. I still think the DSL is better than the DSi anytime.
Opinions differ from one person to another. Also, the number of times it's been released doesn't change how awesome the game is. Oh yeah, I came across something very, very interesting regarding one of the 3DS games in the future. It's so good I'm not even sure it's true anymore. Linky.
