House of the Dead replica for the DS.

Your name is Rob Steiner and you have just been taken to a jail, over a murder you did not commit. After you wake up from a small nap, you find that your gigantic f!@#$%^ prison has been overthrown by Murderous Zombies that want to do nothing but lounge around and try killing you. I don't know what their problem is, but they sure have nothing better to do than sit around, waiting for someone to eat. Anyway, you try finding your way out(By going through this gigantic prison that lasts the entire game) and on the way you will find tons of Zombies and bosses(Which are really weak) to do anything to stop you from disturbing their lounging!

Storyline

It was sort of stupid but easy to get. Not much to say about it other than it could have been improved.
Rating: 2/10

Gameplay

Pretty simple, touch and kill. You are on a "Rail" system, where you don't walk but you just follow a rail and kill everything you see. You get new guns and a crowbar during the chapters which will aid you immensely, because your pistol is really crappy, even upgraded. The bosses are way too easy and can be killed in a matter of two minutes not trying.
Rating: 4/10

Mini-games

There were none.
Rating: N-A/10

Appeal

It looks like a 32-bit game but it's fun. I found that nothing is better than re-playing a "House of the Dead" type game on your DS.
Rating: 5/10

Controls

Tap, shoot, reload, kill.
Choose your guns with the D-Pad.
Pretty straightforward.
Rating: 3/10

Overall

It was a nice game but to be honest, the storyline sucked and I wanted more weapons. It was quite fun blasting through zombies and frantically trying to reload while 10 or 20 try killing you at the same time.

I give this game a rating of:

5.5

Thanks for the review. Looks like an unhappy try to bring a horror game to the NDS to get away from the kiddie image. Or am I wrong?

Did anyone play this and Resident Evil DS? How do they compare if at all?

As I was a huge RE Fan, I will give a RE a try, when I will find some time to play. The box is in my shelf for quite some time....

Touch The Dead is awful, yes.

Resident Evil DS is almost identical to the Playstation original, but with a couple of minor improvements. Still not as good as RE2/3 by far.

Resident Evil DS is just like the PS1 version except adding a touch screen knifing feature(Like you enter a room and it makes you whip out your Stylus before you die)

i bought the physical game. honestly, it wasn't worth it. they should have made a whole new game instead of bring back the original with a few touch screen controls. but if your a fan of RE you may want to go find the ROM and try it, sadly when i bought it i new nothing of slot one devices. :(
