Lone Wolf DS was utterly amazing, no doubt about it. I'd love to see the Fighting Fantasy books done in that style, too, as that would be epic.
This looks more like a Japanese visual novel, and it'll have great art but unless there's a fantastic translation team (like those working on the Ace Attorney and Professor Layton series) working on this, it's going to be a total flop beyond the art.
The problem with many Japanese games of late is that people can't be bothered to fund a decent translation team, and the end result reads like it was translated by a teenager on a napkin.
So yeah, not much hope for this. Play Lone Wolf DS instead! Especially sisnce, you know, Lone Wolf DS is already out and in English. |

Once again, how do you know any given Japanese game isn't lousy in the original Japanese? Plus the process that made Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton good in English is known as localization, not translation.
Also, this game is a straight-up gamebook. If not for the anime-eyes on certain characters, it would be indistinguishable from a 'western' game. Totally not as good as Lone Wolf though! |

Because the Japanese are amazing and everything they do is awesome, it's the mean americans that ruin everything!! |

Yeah, I'm feeling all guilty over here!
The thing that got me thinking about this is that I tried the JP version of Persona portable back when it came out, and I was like 'woah, my Japanese isn't good enough for this, better wait for the NA version...' Recently I tried the US release and it wasn't that my Japanese that was that bad... the game just has a really odd script. All the translators in the world couldn't have fixed the game, but a decent localization team who had half a heart to make it coherent (instead of staying 'faithful' to the original script) might have done a better job.
More on topic: This must be the first Japanese game where an assault by two elf sisters didn't end in lewd shenanigans.
Really on topic!: This is what this game is, sort of: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sword_World_RPG
I didn't feel like reading all of that pencil+paper RPG jargon, but it's worth taking a look at if you are interested in where this game came from. This post has been edited by MyNameIsNobody, Sun, November 1st, 2009 at 20:17 |

This game is HARD. Lol.
I've played thorugh the first chapter like 4 times and I still can't get a good "ending," which results in you start all over again...
And the skip rate (when you've already and you wanna just make decisions) is VERY slow... I think this game is a bit too tedious..
