I doubt games would have the update built in but I wouldn't put it past Nintendo in future installments.
Also, Acekard2i has a bootloader that can be updated by running a NDS file on the card. It seems that Team Acekard is working on a way to fix whatever it is that is blocking the Acekard. I wonder if it is a type of boot check with the new firmware since some cards are visible but produces an error on boot.
It is best for Acekard2i users to not update their DSi's firmware at this moment. The reason being so that they can access their card on the DSi to update the bootloader to circumvent the current firmware release.

| I hope this is so, phoenixclaws. I just bought my sister a DSi and an Acekard2i for her birthday and I think she would want the facebook uploading update. The DSi will prompt you if you want the update, right? Just makin' sure. |
