This sucks. I was playin the Japanese version with the translation but stopped ages ago. so i picked this one up to start again with a proper translation and without all the annoying broken text stuff to refresh my mind, and this happens at chapter 5???
So ill have to go back to the Japanese one :(
Party talk - its when you have two or more party members and u use the talk command in the menu to talk to them about whats happening at the point in time, and what to do. ect...
Wud of been cool if that was in it too

Ahhh so that's what Party Talk is. Then no, it's been removed from EUR/USA. I actually didn't even know it existed in the JPN release.

mam-ahamam
Will there be a patch or something to fix that issue? T.T

Possibly, there was an action replay cheat for DQ5 (JPN) to fix a similar problem in the very beginning of the game. I assume the same could be done for DQ4 (EUR/USA).

Ok, so I'm now officially the biggest fucking retard on the planet. It's been my stupidity all along. I missed one room in Zenithia Castle. Thanks to retrohead for pointing it out to me on his first time playing the game ever!! Below is a small transcript of the chat log:

Spoiler

Call it what you will, paranoia due to previous instances of anti-piracy tech., lack of sleep, etc. I call it retardation.  blush

The bright side is that at least you won't have any problems playing it after all. Sorry to everyone for causing such a panic, I feel like a real douche. Haha.

No worries, it'll save those of us not there yet the panic of thinking there's a problem when we get to that point. No, I think your little mistake is for the best in the end.

We're still not out of the woods, so to speak, when it comes to other games. Dragon Quest V (JPN) has anti-piracy tech. And a Dragon Quest VI is also scheduled. It's going to be a long road. And probably a short one for R4 unless the dev. team gets cracking on updated firmware (or releases the source). Sadly I doubt either one will happen :'(  Should be getting my retail pre-ordered copy tomorrow. Can't wait. At least I won't have to open it though.

There are like 3 cites on the game that try to use this terrible accent. It's a bit hard to read at first and slightly annoying, but it doesn't really hurt the gameplay.

I'm really digging how they did the whole Dragon Quest 7 treatment on this one!
