DS Game Maker improves on the powerful engine of XtenDS providing a fast, clean and useful environment for developing DS Games. Not only can you visually piece together characters, scenes, and scoring, you can add Wifi, Rumble and sound without having to know any programming!

Unlike any other program of it's kind, DS Game Maker has a comprehensive manual which will set you on the track of making great DS Games. And when you think your game is good, you can upload it to the dsgamemaker.com community for others to play.

the download below is a very old version, please go here for the latest version http://www.ds-scene.net/?s=viewtopic&nid=8076

this looks quite interesting, it looks like a lot of effort has gone in to create this. $10 registration to the site though... maybe another time.

It would be really cool to get into, but the program seems all but useless without paying for it, and it's hard to cough up even $10 when there's no playable examples and no actual proof that what it compiles will work on a DS.

Anyone ever get that far with it?

Tried this for about 10 mins and got confused, had a look over the pdf manual and read of about 3 other things I needed to install as well then un installed it all. Some people might be able to do a lil with it but I couldn't get much of use out of it personally since I'm a programmer anyway and like to have a lot more control, might be worth it in the future for some people if they improve this.

I would, I've even got the $10, but I cannot deal with the ".net framework" on my personal laptop. I downloaded the palib and the .net framework on my computer and ended up with the blue screen of death. So I'll wait and download them all when I get to school. I'm going to be going to school for programing and all the good junk.

I got a "program failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)" error. :(

And I really wanted to at least make a good joke game!

Easy device my ASS!

1st u need to download devkitpro and all of its components add to 250mb of download ! and u have to download palib ..then u gota download this other thing and patch it and this is knda complicated which many new users cant do! as it say its easy to use!...
then u gota add all the other shit !! with all of its values and  this is no way near easy to do!! SO IT IS SO NOT WORTH PAYING $10 FOR IT!!.

Well its up to u now to get this..but i warn u only get all this ...is u atleast know a little about programming and are confident or it will be a waste of time and money!...

Thanks ,

Dash roms! :ras:

Questions answered!

1: Why you need PALib & Devkitpro
These are the core tools which turn the code into a .nds rom. They are needed even when you code it yourself!

2: Why .NET Framework?
This makes our programs run faster, more efficiently. It is also a hell of a lot simpler to program in, but the main reason is is that it's the only way for 14 year old to create software without getting a headache!

3: I got a "program failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)" error.
Get .NET Framework!

"I would, .net framework - blue screen of death."
What are you running - Windows 95?

but the program seems all but useless without paying for it
You're only supposed to "pay" when you use the program enough that you need the extra features

$10 for this!?!?!
Not really, it's free FOREVER. Not shareware, doesn't last XXX days, this is free forever. If you think it sucks, go and learn programming and then see why I made a DS Game Maker.

no actual proof that what it compiles will work on a DS.
True, but if you tried it you could make a game in less than a minute, and run it in an emulator and you would see that this does make results

Sorry I had to rant there.
