# 3.0 (09/09/2007):

    * New: WIFI mode created. The books from http://cbds.free.fr/ can be consulted directly on the DS thanks to the WIFI connexion.
(The next big images are downloaded in background while viewing the current ones).
    * New: New look of the different screens (many thanks to FA for this nice design)
    * New: Theme support: Sounds, Colors, Backgrounds, Icons and Sprites can be changed. All the theme content is placed in the "/cbds/Theme" folder.
    * New: Quicker file scan (new restriction : all .cbds, .ini and theme files must be placed in the "cbds" root folder. Sub-folders are still handled).
    * New: Improved change page trigger (using the one key navigation feature) : instead of an exact page side match, an average is used (1/3 of the visible area by default), to trigger or not a page change.
    * New: Display of a notification icon before a page change. A second key press is then now necessary (this feature can be deactivated in .ini file).
    * New: More configuration available in ini file (avoid blinking, initial brightness, scrollincrementX,scrollincrementY,start key configurable ...).
    * New: Slightly better reactivity , preempting and error handling. Small bug fixes and improvements.

Hmm, i dont see lots of improvement, because in my opinion the 2,0 version was a good one. I had no problems with that version whatsoever. Also i dont need the themes/sounds etc (Its a book for christ sake!) and ill also skip the wifi mode (i have a wifi usb connector- too mutch trouble to convert it to a wifi homebrew connector). And also, the books on freecbds.com are updated once a month or so. SO theres practicly no reason to go to 3,0.

I don't agree with oyu on that one. Sounds are not really needed in such an app, but the look and feel has much improved in this version with the themes.
I also have the wi-fi usb connector from big N and it wasn't that hard to convert it to a wifi access point and furthermore it was really worth it, since there are many great homebrew apps and games out there which use the wifi functionality very well.
I heard that the loading of off the database is kinda slow, but it is really a nice step forward. If he updates his comic section more often this feature will be very nice.

The 2 series never worked for me, even though I tried all of the possible patching options I had available (I had to stick with the latest 1.x version). M3 lite BTW.

I really hope this one works for me

Hey guys,

This really scared me: http://cbds.free.fr/Softwares/PictoDS/?language=en

Warning :
Unfortunately, I might have to shut down this site, probably forever, in a few days.
So enjoy it, while it is still available ;)

That means that 3,0 is the final version? And there will be no inprovement in downloading comics via wifi?

Or is this some kind of joke?

No, it's not joke, here is what he said about it on the french forums.

A quick sum up : some people are interested by his homebrew (so i guess he might sell it ?) That means he would have to close the website for ComicBookDS since it wouldn't be his application anymore.

Anyways; I transferd to version 3,0 now. It seems like it loads pages/comics ultra fast..
the problem is, is that ugly theme! Light blue, definitly not my favorite colour. So anyone knows where to get new themes??

Yeah, i didn't like it as well, i asked him for the old one, you can download it on ComicBook website, don't remember where exactly but you should find it easily.

hi, i was using ver 2.2 fine on r4ds, but i can't seem to get ver3 to work - says it can't find the cbds folder, though i have it in the _system_ directory (which i thought was the root dir)
Am i a big dingbat for wrong directoryness or what?
d.

Root of your flash card is the same level as the r4 _system_ directory.
x:\ (where X is flash card drive letter).
Basically just drag and drop the cbds folder onto your drive letter from windows explorer. this will copy the files to the root of your flash card.

As for chaps asking for themes the comic book ds site is still up and is hosting 3 themes.
None of them tickled my fancy so I made myself a basic uncluttered black theme.
