R4iGold form R4iDS.CN works the 2.2.0-4 firmware.

The ez5i is not blocked by this update. Seems that big N forgot to block it, hehe.

Thanks a lot, ccosmos2. I'll use that in my new "flash files for popular flash carts, Pt II" thread.

Guys: One of the largest store for such stuff stopped selling Acekards yesterday. Maybe they're preparing a cool Acekard Christmas Edition as last year, or maybe something else is going on. If you're planning to buy a flash cart for your 3DS, I'd suggest to wait a bit now. And keep in mind that all these flash carts are developed for DSi, not 3DS, which is a completely different system. Have fun!  

Did this block the acekard 2i? and if it did does 1.8.9 update fix it?

This did indeed block the Acekard 2i. The only ones that can fix it are the Acekard team (so AKAIO 1.8.9 didn't fix it), but they haven't released a fix yet. Maybe they're holding out until Nintendo's next big firmware update (8th of December), or maybe they can't fix it. We'll see.

Any word on a fix for this yet? Or if the Acekard team is working on it? I avoided updating my 3DS, but my boyfriend updated his so we could play SM3DL, but now he'd like to be able to use his Acekard again. We're also waiting for a fix for this before he updates to the new firmware either. I've already got mine updated with the newest AKAIO and the update so it works on the new firmware, but it'd be nice if he could use his again too.

Your flash cart manufacturer has a wep page, too. There we found this file. You'd like to have a look there once in a while.  

Actually that isn't the fix I'm talking about. That does nothing to correct the Acekard not playing if you updated your 3DS with the Super Mario Land 3D update. I've already got that update applied to my Acekard and everything is working fine, but my boyfriend can't get his Acekard to load, due to the Mario update, in order to apply that fix for the firmware update.

Why doesn't he just update to 3.0.0-5, then?

If he did that, then he wouldn't be able to use the Acekard on his 3DS again. My understanding is, if you want the Acekard to work with the new firmware, then you need to update it internally before you get the 3.0.0-5 firmware or it won't work. What's preventing him from doing that is the fact his Acekard isn't even accessible until there's a fix for the Mario update block.
