meaning? If you mean that you should download the tool just to get the cheat db, you're wrong. We still serve the same link everytime the cheat db is updated, and you can now too download it on ds scene rom tool, it's a new feature, not a forced feature. So if you don't want to download the tool, it's fine and you can still enjoy the cheat db everytime it's out. Cheers.

Actually, the file is not yet available in the download section. We are working on setting up a way for the website to pick up on the updates too but this is the first release of this feature. We are still testing everything is working and that the CMP team can update the database when they wish and, so far, the tests are looking good. We also have I think the first implementation of a changelog and a full game list within the tool which is totally sortable so it's well worth using the tool for getting your CMP updates anyway.
The next release of the tool will also show if your rom that you have loaded is supported by the cheat database you have installed within the tool:
