The translation team that recently released the SaGa 2 translation is closing its door to any translations they were working on right now.
From Crimson Nocturnal: "Crimson Nocturnal was created to be something enjoyable and, in a way, educational for those of us that worked on the projects. Gamers getting great games that they would have never played otherwise was just an added bonus.
In the game translation community, you have three different groups of people. There are the people that get involved and do their part and are a real asset to the projects. You have the people that don't or can't be involved directly with the projects, but they sit on the sidelines and are supportive and understanding and patient..."
Besides, I don't see any patches out. They allegedly finished most of their traslations to the point of 70-80%. Were are the translations? Somebody could pick it up, but no!
Post a lame excuse instead and put the doubt levels fly-sky-high.

wow, this is really fucking sad. but also it's quite telling, not just about the state of the DS or the fanslation scene, but about the internet as a whole. it's little tidbits like this that make me think that 2.0 may ultimately be doomed...
edit: and there goes foxi, underlining my point with a friggin' 4-storey sharpie. way to go, buddy.....

Sorry for doing that, Durdy. Some things have to be said though. "Urr, we're not translating anymore, t'is all because the scene hates us!". No it's not - you just got to the point where you weren't able to carry on translating due to technological difficulties or you just got BORED of working on it and you're throwing the towel.
Don't write a large essay about it Crimson Nocturnal. Since when do you care what the n00blets say? Are you Emo? It sure as hell looks like being emo.
Intead of a valid explaination, instead of posting whatever patches you already created, instead of releasing the source code to your tools so that someone can carry on with the good job, you release a sad, sad notice about how nobody loves you and you're closing the joint. That's bullshit. You just neglected your projects and I don't feel the least bit sorry for you.
Reading this just reminds me of Brakken from tehskeen who nearly killed himself over the scene and closed his site because of all the drama.
As far as translations go unless you are up to par with something like Mother 3 then you are bound to get whining and bitching. If you're someone that takes all the drama to heart then you shouldn't be doing it in the first place so it's a good thing this guy quit.

I agree, Triforce, if you start making translations, you are BOUND to get bitching, moaning and whining. I think the whole thing is out of the proportions, there are always people who don't respect your work, regardless all the love you give to it... it's terribly happy-go-lucky attitude to think everybody will accept everything as it is. If you can't stand it, don't even begin. Or just ignore the whole drama, do your work as well as you can, and that's that. Why to torment yourself by reading all the crap idiots write...
I was looking forward to SaGa3 translation, as the SaGa2 one was excellent, but oh well... no use to cry now.
