Hi, I am wondering if the Gateway is still the best 3DS flash cart out there, and what is the maximum firmware  your 3DS must have, the main page talks about incoming firmware 2.0 multi rom support, and things like that.
At he moment I am ok playing my NDS games on my 3DS XL, and I have a lot of 3DS game, but the region lock is kind of a killer. Also I don't want to buy the same game twice just to play multiplayer a few times only ( SuperMarioBros 2, MarioKart 7 , etc ).

Well right now the MT card takes the lead. Since it has multirom support, drag & drop support.
But no you still need to be on firmware 4.1-4.5.

And yes the games you want to play online you have to buy.

hey thanks, I buy my all my games, no problem there, I was talking about local multiplayer, I have 3 3DS at home, and I wanted to play Mario kart against the missus, but I am not paying twice , because is pointless. That and Nintendo doesn't like to drop the price on their first games in like forever...
I am already over 5.x on my XL, not sure on my other machines, but thanks for the info, the Gateway page does not state the  maximum  firmware allowed.
