I had Suikoden II, PAL version - it's a very wanted game in certain circles. I bought it for 60e, sold for 140e. Everyone say Suikoden II is the best, but I didn't find it very special. Never played it very far and I know Suikoden games are kinda slow at first so maybe I should have given it a little more time but... I really don't care. I have been trying to get into Suikoden V lately but I always got something else to play so it's eternally on "To be Played list". Oh, and I'm playing undub of that. Love the Japanese voices.
Kiekoes, by myself. Have never properly studied it anywhere - well, I have, for a few months but quit it for reason unbeknownst by mankind.

I could not find any copies of Suikoden V near me, and the Undub is only one I could find online, so that's the one I played/am still playing - even though my save file is at least a year old. V is the only Suikoden game I don't physically own, except for the Suikogaidens. Suikoden V cost $100 on Amazon.
I learned my poor Japanese from some site, which escapes me, and from the Pimsleur audiobooks. I tried Rosetta Stone, but I got bored with that. (I know what a fucking car is, let's move the fuck on!) I have that Genki book somewhere, too.

I wrote 5 different characters a day, about 10 times each for the hiragana. Your handwriting is better than mine, but, even my English penmanship sucks.
Actually, after I left school I barely wrote anything on paper. Damn this technological age we live in.

I do the same with kanji, because they are hard as fuck to write.

Higurashi When They Cry or Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. I've never heard of this series, but it seems that a lot of the people in the YouTube Anime/Manga community has these series. Anyone knows what it is?

Higurashi was huge a few years back. It's a violent murder mystery series of sorts. I like it, but it requires way too much stuff to watch/read/listen/play. There is anime, a few live action movies, nearly fifteen visual novel games for different consoles/PC (even DS has four I think), a huge pile of audio CDs, and almost 30 vols of manga (and lot of them are still untranslated). So if you wanna know everything you have to go through all the material which is very time-consuming and expensive.
One can be lazy though and just watch the anime but it's only like scratching the surface... So I would leave Higurashi alone.
