As many probably know, Nintendo, EA and Sony Electronics all supported SOPA from the beginning, but have now dropped said support. I would say has something to do with the recent boycott of GoDaddy, which caused them to lose thousands of customers.
It's great some big names have stopped supporting SOPA, hopefully other companies will see this is the best thing to do or otherwise they will lose far more customers than they lose to copyright infringement of their products.
However, all three companies are members of the Entertainment Software Association, a group that still remains aligned to SOPA. Although their individual express support of the bill has been removed, these companies still back it by virtue of their association with the ESA. Until the ESA backs off, these companies are still in. They ostensibly went from backing it twice to backing it once.

Where's your trust? Leave your cynicism at 2011's dying breath.
But I think it's that they are no longer directly supporting it, just indirectly. Some might say, casually. Like casually supporting terrorism by buying bootlegs, instead donating directly to the World Terrorism Fund.

ESA have just announced that they dropped support for SOPA after it has be shelved. Probably due to those lots of E3 boycotts they were threatened with by various gaming sites. But it's too little, too late. They proved that they can stab their clients in the back with the first chance they get. So a big F*CK YOU to all of them.
