You have noticed the new system "Nintendo 3DS", which Nintendo currently are doing their best to raise it up high and increase its reputation. Due to that, you can see that the newest games for DS (Except Alien Infestation) are very very badly developed, even though they have a popular title, like XMen Destiny, it has the worst effects and the worst gameplay too, you can also look at SpiderMan - Edge of Time, which has bad effects and has MANY bugs and glitches. While I was searching on Google, I saw a topic talking about Nintendo providing a new update for its Nintendo DS Engine , which was a very bad and buggy engine for the companies developing games for DS. I think Nintendo did that to let people get bored of the Nintendo DS, and buy a 3DS, please reply and give your opinions

Fossil Fighters: Champions, 14th of November 2011.
I strongly suggest you give this game a chance. The first game, Fossil Fighters was extremely fun (or is), but I think the graphics scared off most of the people. I must admit, the retarded-looking characters and somewhat poor craphics aren't very good things sale-wise, but the gameplay is very enjoyable and fun. Fortunately the game sold enough so Nintendo decided to localise the sequel, which is a lot better looking and even more enjoyable.
For the last time, there is no such thing as the Nintendo Engine. Nintendo's child company, Intelligent Systems, supplies developers with SDK's and hardware, but that's it. Nintendo has nothing to do whatsoever with the programming part of third party developers. Spiderman: Edge of Time is a crappy game because it's a cash-in quick movie/comic based game.
I am waiting for Devil Survivor 2. That's about it. I have finished X-Men Destiny for the DS and played the Wii version for a bit. They are both meh, with the Wii version ranking above it. The 360 and PS3 versions don't seem to fare any better, but I hear they are the best of the bunch
I also tried Edge of Time for my cousin and couldn't be bothered for more than ten minutes. The console versions seem meh as well. Just more Spider-Man nonsense. So I don't think there is any conspiracy, specifically, these are just bad games.

The SDK is what I have meant by "Engine", since they are related to each other (Like Gamebryo and Unreal).
SDK is always a SDK, afaik whatever is your SDK tool, if the developer didn't work on the game too much, it's a crap game till end. Plus you mention shovelwares, you can't expect new games to be released on NDS except a localisation these day. They have newer device, why bother making the old one?

Nope, they're not. An SDK is a bundle of instruction sets for a given hardware with an included compiler, it also consists all the drivers necessary to build any application on a given piece of hardware.
An engine on the other hand, be it one that has auxilary software bundled with it or not, is just an engine - by proxy it is created to work on any hardware - it's just a slab of code that gives you control over all game mechanics in a certain way.
You can't build a game with just an engine, but you can build a game with just a Software Development Kit, that's the difference. An SDK compiles your code in a specific manner, understandable for the built of the machine it is associated with. An engine does not.
