Isn't it perhaps perchance possible to connect to Wifi that uses WPA2 security using the DS? It seems to only support WEP, and if I change settings here, I'll kick mom, dad, and my bros off of the network...

Not that I know of. The only DS systems that can connect to WPA2 are DSi, DSi XL/LL and 3DS.

You could ask your family if you can change the way their internet works for a sec. It's what I did, and it worked out just fine.

I'd kill them and use their network the way Nintendo wants it!  :yaylite:

Anyway: It takes usually hours to get your DS / DSi working on any network. It's a nightare. but one it works, it works.

Crap, first downpart to a DS Light. It still beats having a little camera glaring at you at all times, though. I'm not gonna ask my parents to be allowed to switch the network settings. I can, that's not the problem, but if changing it wouldn't bother anybody, I would've already done so :P I'll just wait til I'm at my own place. I only bother me there, so that's no problem then.

I got hits modem called b-box 2 from Belgacom (an internet provider), Nadrian should know about it.
You can change settings like changing the type of security into WEP, WPA, WPA2,WPA/WPA2.
and I'm using a DS Lite. So this modem thingy of mine is good

Well, yeah, anyone can do that with their router AFAIK, but the problem is that if you change the security protocol, or even just the password, your devices that are connected to the internet via that router will no longer work until you update them to the latest changes as well.

You can always buy a USB Wi-Fi adapter. Most USB sticks based on the RaLink chip also work in Access Point mode. That way you could share your internet connection with the DS. To make it safe, you could set it to assign only 1 IP and only to a single MAC adress (the DS).

But he already has one. He just never uses it.

And I noticed I still have one, too. I just never use it, either.

You want to eat the cake and still have it X3 Either you'll bend over and plug that USB stick into your nasty PC box or it just won't work with the WPA/WPA2 settings, that's final XP
