The official ARV of the price has been revealed accidentaly during one of SE's contests. It's $400/$397.36 CDN. The same contest in europe lists the Aproximate Retail Value as 499€. Whether the prices have VAT counted in or not remains to be seen.
...not that bad. With a contract, the phone/console might just be "affordable".
Also...
...awesome. Very awesome.
3 new titles:
"Racer" looks SWEET. Maybe the title is a bit "meh", but it "shows" what this hardware is capable of doing.
As far as the battery goes (apparently it's a concern lately), it's 8 hours of non-stop talking, aprox. 5 hours of non-stop gameplay. Not sure about the stand-by mode, but probably a "few days".
...who cares about "stand-by" when you can play on this baby? I'd charge it everyday.
I've also seen some "uninteresting" GUI movies on youtube. The phone's OS works flawlessly and with lightning speed, despite having rather low specs CPU-wise. It's *sweet*.

Comment on: PSP2? Nope, it's Sony Ericsson Xperia Play!
Bump, and a fresh Gameplay Video (posted by Sony 2 hours ago, still hot) with Gameloft Games for the Xperia.
WARNING: The high dosage of awesome may cause your brain to explode and leak out through your nostrils. Keep a safe distance from the monitor and watch in HQ.
Games included:
• Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles • UNO™ • Let's Golf! 2 • Spider-Man: Total Mayhem • Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus • Real Football 2011 • Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction • Star Battalion • Asphalt 6: Adrenaline
Another sweet game that'll be comming out soon is Backstab - from the looks of it, a Fable-wannabe, and good at it. LINK

Wait... Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles is a port of the DS game. And that one was terrible, not to mention full of bugs, so I can't say I'm really excited about this anymore.
UNO doesn't seem all that promising, either.
The rest of the bunch seems decent to good, though.
EDIT: BackStab looks cool.

In other news, apparently the Xperia Play won't make your wallet bleed. It is already available for pre-order from Vodaphone Britain for a small fee of... zero pounds on contract (from 35 pounds monthly).
* Crash Bandicoot * Fifa 10 * Star Battalion * Tetris * Sims 3 * Bruce Lee
...and a FREE deckstand.
...thanks to which you will be able to connect your Xperia Play to a stereo speaker set, trigger applications on-demand (for example the alarm clock) and charge your phone "the cool way". It costs aprox. 30 pounds separately.
...seems like a BLOODY GOOD deal to me.
EDIT: No, it does not play PSP games. It plays Android games and apps, special Playstation Suite games and selected PlayStation One games. Obviously you can use emulators etc. like on any other Android phone.

Worst case scenario, the phone will cost you 199 pounds on a 25 pounds monthly plan, which is STILL a steal for that kind of hardware.
EDIT: Sure, but I think that the unlimited texts, 750MB's of internet and 900 free minutes are worth the 10 bonus pounds. Not that the standard 100 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB's are crap - if you're not a big texts person and you use 3G occasionally, it's a good offer.
