In the most recent PSP versions of the game, they made it so you all get your own drops. PSO is more like you find a rare drop then it's normally usable straight away, there was never really much forging or whatever going on and it's very much pick-up-and-play. With all this said though, the new PSO looks completely different from the previous games. It should be interesting to see how they cater for the PSO purists as all that seems to be there so far is the character designs, the gameplay has been ripped apart.

The game is being created partly by the team that made Infinity and believe me that's a good thing. I am sure you can expect plenty of missions with multiple mini bosses like our friend the rock bear in these vids and I am sure he is bound to drop a fair few nice rare type items to make you want to keep hunting him.

There were hints of "infinite universes" at the end of infinity so I think there will probably be some kind of mission forging system similar to that found in infinity. You complete missions to earn points and once you have enough points you can merge 2 missions together to create a new one. There's also requirements to create certain missions and if you succeed then you can earn rare items to upgrade your weapons. I can imagine them doing something more with this idea and expanding it further, the PSP has limitations after all. Trading these missions with friends is also part of the "infinite" fun.

This should be awesome, I hope some people from here will be able\willing to join me in playing the beta when it is available  pleased
